What exactly is a hardscape contractor? We should start by defining several terms associated with landscape design.
Landscaping can be generally broken down into two categories; softscape and hardscape. Softscape comprises the "living" elements such as trees, flowers, grasses and so forth. It can be used to help improve the flow between landscape components, softening the edges of walkways, patios, decks and other "hardscape". Hardscape can be almost anything that adds structure to the landscape such as driveways, pavers, rock walls, stone paths, fences, pergolas, waterfalls, etc.
Hardscaping has evolved to include more creature comforts, allowing an outdoor space to provide the functionality of an indoor space. Bars and firepits, outdoor kitchens, water features and, outdoor sanctuaries might fall into this category.
